MODES OF STUDY
The modes of study in Christ Apostolic Church Theological Seminary, Ile Ife are as follows:
i. Regular Programme:
The regular programme is a full-time programme designed for students willing to live on the campus within the periods of their programmes. It runs on a two-semester basis in a session.
ii. Weekend Programme:
This is a part-time programme wherein the students receive their lectures during the weekend (i.e. Fridays and Saturdays). It is designed mainly for working-class students who may not have the chance to attend lectures during the weekdays. Their lectures commence from 2:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Fridays and 8.00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturdays. The Weekend school runs on Three (3) Trimesters in a session.
iii. Summer Programme:
Theological education deals with doctrinal topics and sets one for the practice of ministry and/or the teaching discipline. As some have been called into the ministry thereby needing theological or seminary training, so are those who love and have the flare for grounded understanding in theological education for ecclesiastical and societal development. To allow for this privilege (as some are government workers, business tycoons, church leaders/workers with tight schedules), Christ Apostolic Church Theological Seminary (CACTS), Ile Ife, has designed a part-time programme to accommodate those who cannot partake in the full-time session. Therefore, this programme runs for seven (7) weeks between the third week of July and the first week of September, every year.
Entry Requirements and Duration of Summer Programme:
The entry requirements are the same as the general requirements approved by the Seminary Management. The duration is a minimum of three (3) years for both Certificate and Diploma programmes; while the Bachelor’s degree is a minimum of four (4) years (Direct Entry) and five (5) years for O’ Level holders.
